 A TRUE PIECE OF HISTORY...
These Press Packets for the popular 1930 Flower Initial Pattern Series
were literally found in the family attic! We have multiples for almost
every letter, and are now offering them to the public.
As shown above, most letters have a press proof (left), paper printing
plate (right) and suggested text (bottom). Back in the day, these
packets were sent out to publishers across the country for easy
insertion into their publications.
These precious artifacts have been loosely stored for almost a hundred
years...however, they are in remarkably good condition. Some of them
were clipped together with a rusty diamond shaped clip (imprint shown
in top left corner of press proof above). There is very little
staining, just a little dirt ; ) and the text paper has yellowed just a
bit and has sometimes been folded or crinkled.
I find these qualities even more endearing...they tell the story of
their survival! I had a set framed for my mother, Barbara, for
Christmas 2012. It came out beautifully, and of course, she loved it.
